DONATE NOW TO HELP SAVE THE SUMATRAN ORANGUTAN
Donations are important to the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP) because we use these funds to help provide ongoing support for a wide range of projects, including habitat protection, rehabilitation projects and orphan care centres.
We are pleased to inform that we also accept donations in CHF through SOCP Founding Partner PanEco Foundation in Switzerland, and in AUD through Supporting Partner Orangutan Project in Australia – with all contributions sent to SOCP field projects
About infant orangutans
Only 1 out of 6 orphans are lucky enough to be rescued – over 1,000 orphaned orangutans are living in rescue and rehabilitation centres.
Care of these infants is costly and requires 24 hr staff, veterinary, and nurse care to ensure they are in a healthy condition and have the best chance to survive – and possibly even return to the wild.
From as little as $65 you can make a real difference and help these infants survive.
Note: Online adoptions for the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme are managed by the Orangutan Project and Orangutan Outreach, with all funds raised sent to SOCP field projects.

We are most happy to receive and will put to good use any support that you might have to offer, but a great way to help is a monthly donation, possible through the following link:
Even a small monthly donation can make a big difference!
Donate to our Release Appeal
They say if you love someone, set them free, and five orangutans are ready now. After having been rescued from a life of suffering, these orangutans have undergone rehabilitation and training in preparation for their release back into the wild.
It takes love and years of care to prepare them for release and it also takes the money to establish and run this process professionally.
The entire journey to release one orangutan costs $3,000. These funds are essential to pay for everything needed for a successful release. As of 1 April 2016, five orphaned orangutans are ready now so we need to raise $15,000 to ensure they can be released. There is no need for these orangutans to be in care any longer.
The time for freedom is now. Please support this special appeal to set them free.
Note: Online donations for this Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme appeal are managed by The Orangutan Project, with 100% of funds raised sent to SOCP field projects.
Help Save Aceh’s Forests
Some of the richest and most biodiverse forests in SE Asia, the Leuser Ecosystem, is threatened by new palm oil expansion and increasing fragmentation due to new roads. Indonesia will soon be opened up for commercial exploitation SOCP is working with partners in the region to prevent this from happening and ensure the long term protection of the Leuser Ecosystem and other key Sumatran orangutan habitats. not only funding the fight against this plan and protecting the orangutan’s habitat, but also an ongoing battle to rescue and release the displaced orangutans back into the wild.
