During the last few months of 2009, another eight orangutans arrived at the SOCP quarantine center. One of them was Masita, who had been treated in the quarantine in 2006 and had afterwards been released. She was found in Bukit Tigapuluh heavily wounded and was returned to Batu Mbelin for treatment. On the other hand, Ayu, Jeki, Frangki, Evan and Alex were transferred to Jambi for reintroduction. Not only the number of orangutans grew, but the staff also. Arista Ketaren is our new keeper while Dr Yenny attended vocational training in Switzerland.
