Success through Collaboration
The Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme is based on the collaboration of four principal project partners.
Nature Conservation Authority PHKA
The Indonesian Nature Conservation Authority is among others responsible for guidelines and environmental law enforcement in Indonesia. PHKA has signed a memorandum of understanding with PanEco for the SOCP, giving the Programme full governmental support. PHKA authorises and conducts the confiscation of pet orangutans.
Swiss based PanEco Foundation supports and implements projects in nature conservation and environmental education. PanEco initiated the SOCP and remains heavily involved in the management, fundraising and implementation of the programme.
